Introduction To Commercial Floriculture

Commercial Floriculture is specialized form of Horticulture aimed at augmenting the income of Growers and generating employment opportunities. It involves:
1. Setting up of Ornamental Nurseries.
2. Aromatic oil crop farming like Lavender.
3. Cut flower production e.g. Rose, Carnation , Gerbera ,Lilium , etc
4. Bulb production of Iris, Daffodils, Dahlia, Lilium, Gladiolus, Peonia, Cyclamen, Ranunculus, etc.

Documents required for undertaking registration of Growers with Directorate of Floriculture Kashmir:-

1	Application from the prospective Grower.
2	Recent Passport Size Photos (03) copies of the applicant
3	Extract of 02 Kanals minimum land with khasra no. owned by the applicant attested by Tehsildar.
4	Attested copy of Intikhab Girdawari
5	Lease deed in case the land has been taken on lease by the applicant.
6	Letter of authority(affidavit) in case the land papers are in the name of parents/siblings/legal heirs.

Note:-The land should be feasible/fenced/free from waterlogging etc, for the successful cultivation of Floriculture crops which shall be inspected by the concerned District Floriculture Officer prior to the issuance of registration certificate.
